Taylor family papers, 1846-1929.

The collection contains correspondence and other papers. The principal authors are Elihu Burritt, Francis Taylor and George Washington Taylor. The George Washington Taylor papers (1854-1875) and Free Produce Association records (1845-1851) revolve around Taylor's work for free produce labor. There are also a few photographs of High Point Industrial School in High Point, N.C.

Carolena Morris Wood, a prominent Quaker leader, was the daughter of James Wood and Emily Hollingsworth Wood. Her father was president of the American Bible Society, and Carolena (Caroline) and her brother, L. Hollingsworth Wood, continued the family's work in peace and other Quaker concerns. Carolena traveled widely in Quaker foreign mission work and participated in the reconstruction efforts in Europe after World War I. G.W. Taylor was the son of Jacob Taylor and Elizabeth Richards Taylor. A convinced Friend, Taylor was early a member of New Garden, (Pa.) Monthly Meeting.
